Caregiver of the Month- June 2019

Senior Homecare By Angels is proudly present Mila Gallespen, our Caregiver of the Month. Mila’s work performance was excellent. She had exceeded the standard expectations of her job duties and had been consistently providing updates and reports in regards to our client’s conditions and changes in the medical conditions. She is very conscientious and ensures that our client is safe at all times and cared for.

Mila is nurturing, respectful, patient, and a great communicator. She has a personal understanding and connection of what our clients are going through. She is paying close attention to their needs and doing everything possible for them to receive the required care. Her best experiences that she had with our clients were those times when she applied her knowledge and skills. For instance, she addressed the clients properly, made them comfortable, encouraged them to do things on their own as possible, and applied her active listening skills. She had handled cases such as Palliative and Alzheimer’s which were a challenge for her, especially if the clients were exhibiting changes on their behaviours. The most memorable experience she had was when she managed a case of Frontotemporal Dementia. She is really passionate about caring for elderly and very handy. Mila enjoys being with the clients, and providing them a tender loving care is very rewarding for her.

Mila has been working with Senior Homecare By Angels since February 2018 and currently working full time with our client in a retirement residence. Her educational background was Pharmacy Assistant and worked for 8 years back from her home country; and sales representative for medical supplies. She also worked as nursing aide for 3 years in Taiwan. She is a current registered Personal Support Worker.

Mila enjoys walking, playing volleyball, spending time with her husband, eating out, and going to church during her spare time.

CAREGIVER OF THE MONTH- MAY 2019

Senior Homecare By Angels is honoured to announce Chome Tee as our recipient, Caregiver of the Month. Chome knew how to provide quality care when it comes to our clients. In every case that she had handled, Chome had demonstrated proper techniques when it comes to mobility, personal care, ADLs, or IADLs, and other tasks. She is very competent, knowledgeable, hard-working, and diligent. She has a real passion for helping others and loves to take care of them. When Chome encounters our clients, she gives them a smile which puts them at ease.

Chome believed that patience and empathy are one of the most important traits to achieve in caregiving especially when dealing with different medical conditions that may pose challenges and experience stress. She had dealt with cases such as Alzheimer’s, Dementia, Parkinson’s. She went above and beyond on caring for these clients. She knew the importance of compassion and understanding, and continued to provide adequate care to someone who had been through with struggles and challenges in their lives.

Chome has been working with Senior Homecare By Angels since March 2015, and currently working part time with our client in a long-term care setting. She was a Registered Nurse back in her home country, and had worked as a nurse for more than 10 years, including in the Middle East. Chome enjoys watching TV, news, sleeping, and spending time with her friends during her spare time.

merlita abaya

CAREGIVER OF THE MONTH- APRIL 2019

Senior Homecare By Angels is proudly present Merlita Abaya, our Caregiver of the Month. Merlita’s optimism nature is inspiring. She keeps her perspective in a positive way regardless of any situations or challenges that she is dealing with our clients. She is hopeful and confident when she is in charge of the client’s well-being. For instance, when she was handling clients who had Alzheimer’s, and she had to give them a bath or shower, she was counting from first step to the last to encourage the clients to move their foot. She would praise them and exclaimed “hooray” when these clients succeeded on reaching the next floor. One of her most memorable experiences with our clients was when she peeled and gave a banana fruit to the client, and the client ate the entire fruit even the peel when she returned back after a short moment. She is passionate about caregiving. For her, she treated our clients like grandparents. She loves helping them and providing great care.

Our client’s family are grateful for all of Merlita’s help and support. According to the client’s daughter, “Merlita is a wonderful and compassionate caregiver. She always come with a sunny disposition and a smile on her face. She has a kind heart and cares for her client as if they were her own family. When there are any concerns, she will call to check to make sure they are fine. She takes good care of her client and will tend to all their needs. She feeds them, cleans them, and is always aware of their special non-verbal cues. Merlita will also help with household chores and help prepare a client for their appointments, thus relieving the burden on the family. In addition, Merlita is a valuable team member that works well with the LHIN caregivers and all family members.”

Merlita has been working for Senior Homecare By Angels since August 2016. She is currently working part-time with our client in a homecare setting. She completed her B.S. RN back in her home country. She studied Medical Laboratory Assistant and Personal Support Worker here in Canada. She had worked as a Personal Support Worker in a retirement home for 17 years.

Merlita enjoys listening to Christian music, reading books, and the Bible. She likes a quiet time with God.

Congratulations Merlita! We are so proud of your achievement. We are so blessed to have you on our team. Way to go!

lutgarda quibans

CAREGIVER OF THE MONTH- MARCH 2019

Senior Homecare By Angels is pleased to announce Lutgarda Quiban as our recipient, Caregiver of the Month. Her dedication and loyalty to our company and clients have been recognized, as well as flexibility. She always ensures that our clients are well-taken care of, tasks were done appropriately, and reports to our office for any updates or concerns.

She shared many different experiences with our clients and learned from it. She was able to handle a client with mobility issues that were challenging and able to perform a day to day household duties that required diligent cleaning, even going beyond the call of duty performing tasks such as looking after their pets. She enjoyed accompanying them for their medical appointments, learned how to play card games with them, did things together such as the client’s hobbies. She tried to engage the attention of the client by being creative in the activities she comes up with to keep the client interested, involved, and stimulated.

Lutgarda has been working with Senior Homecare By Angels since June 2014. She has been working on different settings- private homes, retirement homes, hospitals, assisted living, nursing homes. She was a Registered Midwife back in her home country, and studied Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She had worked as a midwife in a community for 23 years in her home country; and as a nurse for 17 years in the Middle East. She is a Registered Personal Support Worker here in Canada. She had experienced with cases of Alzheimer’s (severe stage), Dementia (mild and severe stages), and other chronic disorders such as COPD.

Lutgarda enjoys doing household chores, exercises, meditation and prayers, reading books and Bible during her spare time.

CAREGIVER OF THE MONTH- JANUARY 2019

Congratulations to Ang Sani! Senior Homecare By Angels is pleased to announce that Ang Sani Sherpa is our Caregiver of the Month, January’s recipient award. Ang is so accommodating when it comes to work. She would be willing to take the shifts when there is a change on the schedule or even if the hours are split. She can easily adapt to any changes and accept them.

Ang is willing to learn and put in extra effort just to ensure our clients get proper and adequate care and attention. She will do her very best to make them happy and satisfied. She is genuine, caring, and humble. She loves and takes care of our clients and treats them like her own mom. The place that she is currently working is a great place to be at according to Ang. The staff and the place are very friendly and nice; and she enjoys working with our clients.

Ang started working with Senior Homecare By Angels since July 2018 and currently working full-time shifts for our clients in a retirement residence. She was a childcare provider when she worked in Israel. She had worked with elderly and seniors since 2010, when she came to Canada. Most of the cases that she had handled were Alzheimer’s, Dementia, and other chronic disorder such as Diabetes. She is currently taking a Personal Support Worker program. She was an educator back in her home country. Ang enjoys cooking and swimming during her free time.

CAREGIVER OF THE MONTH- NOVEMBER 2018

Congratulations to Jenny! Senior Homecare By Angels is proud to announce that Jenny Rai is our Caregiver of the Month, November recipient’s award. Jenny is a dedicated, enthusiastic, and competent caregiver. She kept going and carried on her caregiving responsibilities even if the client had some challenges. She was determined to continue providing great care and support to all extent on what the client needed whether for personal care or emotional support.

Jenny’s positive attitude developed healthy and meaningful encounters with our clients. She can find the bright side of any situation even if there are obstacles and challenges. She will seek solutions to problems. For example, when dealing with Alzheimer’s, if a client exhibits any challenging behaviour, Jenny will find ways to ensure that the client and herself will be safe.

Jenny started working with Senior Homecare By Angels since July 2018 and currently working full time shifts for our clients in a homecare setting. She was a Registered Nurse back in her home country and worked in a hospital. She had worked with cases such as Alzheimer’s, mobility issues, urinary disorders, and other chronic conditions. She enjoys helping her clients giving them a bed bath and get dressed with their favourite clothing.

CAREGIVER OF THE MONTH- DECEMBER 2018

Senior Homecare By Angels is very pleased to announce Marilou Conel as our recipient, Caregiver of the Month. Our office always receives positive feedback from our clients or family members when it comes to Marilou. Marilou has always been excellent when it comes to providing care and support. She has been treating our clients with respect and dignity. She is very patient, thoughtful, calm, diligent, and empathetic.

Marilou understood what our clients had gone through and she really put herself in their shoes. When she handled an Alzheimer’s case, she will show love and compassion through challenging moments or even stressful situations. With any other chronic conditions that our clients have been experiencing, Marilou will always be patient with them and supportive. She is dependable, trustworthy, and attentive to our clients’ needs. Also, she managed to her best and worked harmoniously with the client’s family members. She is so passionate about what she does and it gives her satisfaction to see her clients feeling happy and comfortable. It felt rewarding to her by caring for elderly.

Marilou started working with Senior Homecare By Angels since July 2018 and currently working part-time shifts for our clients in a retirement residence and homecare setting. She is a certified Personal Support Worker; and worked as a caregiver and childcare provider previously. Marilou loves cooking, enjoys watching TV, playing games in her iPad, and sometimes knitting during her spare time.

CAREGIVER OF THE MONTH- OCTOBER 2018

Senior Homecare By Angels is proudly present Mia Villa Galang, our Caregiver of the Month. We are so blessed to have Mia on our team. There are no other words to describe how wonderful she was! In addition to Mia’s nurturing and caring characteristics, she works well with the team and is flexible when it comes to her availability. She would be willing to help to cover the schedule when needed. If there are any circumstances that are too challenging for her, she will respond to these situations in a positive way.

Our client’s family are grateful for all of Mia’s help and support. They complimented Mia’s “professionalism, loving, and level-headed care for the parents.” Mia had helped the client developed the skills when it comes to “sudoku and computer as it benefited to their daily care and emotional well-being, especially the father.” According to the couple’s daughter, “the dad appreciates Mia’s assistance with his exercises which help him maintain his mobility and independence.” Also, Mia was appreciated for her “stability and calming influence” when the daughter calls her to notify if there is any cancellation on the schedule. “We also appreciate your concern and your communication skills with all the caregivers and team members. We realize that our family is most fortunate to have such continuity will all of the caregivers from David’s company and the community caregivers. We realize that this harmony is unique.” This wonderful feedback came from the couple’s daughter. She also thanked Mia’s “continued compassion and assistance in keeping both of my parents well-groomed, in good humour, safe, and enjoying an excellent quality of care.”

Mia has been working for Senior Homecare By Angels since October 2014. She graduated from Nursing back in her home country, and had worked as a Patient Care Assistant in the geriatric ward in the Middle East. Mia had worked with cases of Dementia and Alzheimer’s.

Mia enjoys watching television with her children and friends during her free time.

janet wilson

CAREGIVER OF THE MONTH- SEPTEMBER 2018

Senior Homecare By Angels is proud to announce Janet Wilson as our recipient, Caregiver of the Month. Her compassion, empathy, diligence, commitment and dedication to our clients have been recognized. For the past several years that Janet has been working as a Personal Support Worker, she had demonstrated high professionalism approach in her career and integrity when it comes to delivering quality care to our clients. She had worked with clients with various chronic health conditions, and had learned the importance of understanding the diseases process. She knows how to treat the client with dignity and respect, and understands that each of the clients that she had been assigned with are designated to provide an individualized care by putting their safety and best interests first.

Janet is always putting the client’s needs first and she does it by putting herself in the client’s shoes, and will ease discomfort and pain. She understood what these clients are going through. She loves being a caregiver and happy on what she does, and continues to strive her best to improve the client’s quality of life. It gives her pure joy when seeing the client smiled, satisfied, and contented after she provided care for them.

Janet has started working with Senior Homecare By Angels on December 2008. She resumed back with our agency on February 2017 after she gained a full-time employment in a nursing home. She has been working as a Personal Support Worker for more than 28 years in her career. She had experienced with cases of Alzheimer’s, Geriatric Behavioural Issues, and other chronic conditions.

Janet enjoys walking, listening to some gospel songs, and spending her evening time with family and friends.

We are so proud of Janet and grateful for her continuous support with our clients and family. Her kindness, heartwarming, and thoughtful personality really touches anyone’s heart. Congratulations Janet and we hope that you continue your success with us!

Ma lorie almelia

CAREGIVER OF THE MONTH- AUGUST 2018

Senior Homecare By Angels is proudly present Ma. Lorlie Almelia, our Caregiver of the Month. We are grateful for Lorlie for her dedication, loyalty, and commitment. Her work performance was excellent. According to our client that she is currently assigned with, “Lorlie was very good. She had worked for me for 4 years, and willing to do everything that I asked.” She was very compassionate, caring, and just love helping people especially the elderly.

For Lorlie, it was a very rewarding experience for her to help others, and could be a challenge too especially if they are exhibiting changes on their behaviours. She understood what the clients had been going through, and she continued to empathize them and provide support doing from personal care, making meals, listening to them and just helping their ADLs if unable to do it.

Lorlie has been working with Senior Homecare By Angels since January 2014 and currently working full time with our client in a facility setting. Her educational background was Midwifery and Bachelor of Science in Education back from her home country. She has been working as a Personal Support Worker for 15 years, and currently taking a program in Massage Therapist and Food Server. She also worked as a caregiver for 5 years in Taiwan. She had an experience working with clients who had Alzheimer’s and Dementia.

Lorlie enjoys doing physical activities such as exercise, yoga, and watching movies during her spare time.
